Rider: Saki Harusame
Horse: HM Black Velvet and Lace (Blackie)
Farm: Harusame Meadows

Saki works to recover Blackie after he and the other horses are stolen in the night by a group of Comanche youths seeking fame and glory. Nienna, in wolf-shape, has gone along to recover her own horse, Splash, while Miss T's Goose waits for his person to emerge from the grass.

I'm kind of doing this bass-ackwards, since this is the end-page of a brief manga. Saki is not telepathic, but she's using a bit of cleverness to get Blackie to come to her. All will hopefully be explained in the next (preceding, actually) page. Pencils of the first page here: [link]

Pencil, paper, kneadable eraser for the initial layups.
Inking done with gray and sepia brushmarkers and pens.
Coloring done with lots of watercolor, mostly Prang and Koi, plus a little Prismacolor pencil. Paint Shop Pro used for everything else like compositing, word balloons and touch ups.
