Little Blue Tree

This year my family's Christmas letter has a story from my mom's early days married to my dad. They had a number of interesting adventures before all us kids happened.

The story concerns my dad buying a Christmas tree in French Morocco. The tree was probably an Atlas Mountain Cedar and was straggly, bent, and windblown enough to rival Charlie Brown's famous little tree.

So this is my try at illustrating that tree from my mom's description to go with her story. Watercolor on paper over pencil. Mom says this actually looks better than the original.
