Halloween Art Jam by Murasaki99 Halloween Art Jam by Murasaki99
:w00t!:  Finally, my half of the Halloween art jam started by :iconhankinstein:!

HW Art Jam #4 - by hankinstein
This is my character Indre Harusame, the recovering death knight, dressed up as Felix Mendelssohn from her wonderful Compozers comic.

Compozerz Story p. 106 by hankinstein
This was a blast to think about and do, even if my markers decided to fight me all the way on it and I resorted to Prismacolor pencils and PSP for final colors and touchup.  I didn't know Tombows bled when you hit them with watercolor.  :hmm:  Microns don't.  (Make a mental note of that for the future.)  :painter:

Indre can play the organ, but her taste in music is... different.  While she might start out with a nice piece by Mendelssohn, it will rapidly turn into something like this:  www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMZ85H… Being undead has its challenges.  :XD:

Organ reference from the nice folks at wikipedia and their article on pipe organs, there's no way I could draw one from memory, and I may have added an extra manual of keys.  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pipe_org…

The good news is you don't have to hear her sing!  Piano :la:

Make mine Bach.  (someday I'll get that subwoofer hooked up and working...)

Corned beef and cabbage and mashed potatoes was our Turkey Day repast.  (How come no one makes mincemeat pies?)

Bach is wonderful!!  I still remember the full pipe organ at the MD Renaissance Faire.  Wonderful sound.

Alas, true mincemeat pies you may have to make at home yourself, I haven't seen any in stores in forever.  I have seen mincemeat filling in bottles.

It was a blast!  Mom and I hosted all our family this Thanksgiving.  Everyone left today and now we're recovering.  It was fun, but tiring.  Young people have so much energy, wish I could tap into some of that.  :boing:  Introduced the next generation to WoW, heh-heh.  :giggle:

Hope you had a great Thankgiving, too!  And survived the turkey-coma.  :iconturkeyplz:

Had it at my mom's this year. She made the turkey and dressing and we did everything else. Gorgeous day, looked out on the lake and ate, and then we all went as a group to tour my (possibly) new house. Mortgage and insurance companies willing, hope to close at the end of the year.

Excellent, being able to share with family is so good.  :boing:

And a new house?  How did it go??  I'll keep my fingers crossed that all goes smoothly in terms of financing, etc.  It's a big deal and worth the effort.

Thank you kindly!  :D  I had such a fun time thinking about what the drawing should be about.  Mendelssohn was such a cool guy, and I adore your Felix.  Indre enjoys music - she was a paladin in her former life before becoming a little bit undead - so anything that sounds or feels like the sacred music of her past is appealing to her.  She probably plays the keyboard"vigorously".  Yeah.
piano player happy
