Celebration in Watercolor

Description

Another little watercolor exercise from an old "Watercolor a Day" calendar. This is from a pencil sketch inspired by Matisse. The sketch did not have a credit for the artist.

These exercises all have a colored version painted by Dennis Pendleton, who is an excellent watercolorist, for your use as a guide to color, but of course the instructions say, "feel free to do your own thing". For this one I did, mostly because I didn't like the color choices in the example. If something is titled "Celebration", I think of bright, tropical colors. :painter:

Paints are a combo of Koi and Prang dry pan watercolors. I really do like the Prang colors, even though they are technically the kid's colors they sell in the local store and very inexpensive. :D

The colors are great <^_^> The only thing I'd (personally) change (and again this is purely me) is dropping the lines. It just seems like the kind of thing where the colors flowing on their own without boundaries would somehow be better. Just the first thing that comes to mind really <^_^>b always good work Murasaki!
